Now this is exciting news! Katherine is doing another movie, and this time it’s going to be a romantic drama. According to Variety, Katherine is set to star in Life As We Know It, a film about two singletons who must come together to raise an orphaned child.

Katherine Heigl to star in “Life As We Know It”

Heigl, who has just been re-upped for her TV series Grey’s Anatomy, has also scored a starring role in the upcoming big-screen romance Life as We Know It, according to Variety.

The movie tells the tale of two unattached adults whose worlds are turned upside down when their mutual best friends die in an accident and name them as caregivers for their orphaned daughter.

Katherine and her mother, Nancy Heigl, will also be executive-producing the project. Directing the movie will be Greg Berlanti, known for his work on TV’s Dirty Sexy Money, Brothers and Sisters and Dawson’s Creek.

Katherine’s staying

Okay, so I’ve just read the latest news about T.R. Knight and Katherine and it turns out that T.R. won’t be returning to Grey’s Anatomy next season. The writers of the show have decided though that Izzie will live longer, so that means Katherine’s staying!

Although I’m relieved that Katie will be returning next season, I don’t like the fact that T.R.’s leaving at all! George has always been one of my favorite characters of the show and I just feel like the shows not the same without him.

E! Online reports that, after months of rumors and denials, T.R. Knight has officially confirmed that he won’t be returning to the series next season.

“Leaving Grey’s Anatomy was not an easy decision for me to make,” Knight said in an official statement on Wednesday. “I am extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to play this character and will miss my fellow cast and crew very much. I continue to wish them the very best, and wholeheartedly thank all of the fans who have supported me and the show with such passion and enthusiasm.”

Show creator Shonda Rhimes followed up with her own statement that read, “I think I speak for the entire Grey’s Anatomy family when I say we wish T.R. Knight the best in his future endeavors. He is an incredibly talented actor and a person whose strength of character is admired by all of us.”

The show’s writers and producers had left the fate of Heigl’s character, Dr. Isobel “Izzie” Stevens, in the air by putting her under the knife for brain surgery after giving her stage 4 brain and liver cancer, but apparently she will live to see another season.

In an article posted by our friends at the HuffPo, Katherine Heigl says she might stay on Grey’s Anatomy (or at least that it’s not for sure that she’ll go), and show runner Shonda Rhimes spills that the show’s 100th episode features the wedding of a twosome you love.

(Wait? Did Shonda Rhimes voluntarily distribute a spoiler? That can’t be right. Mmmm…maybe wedding day doesn’t actually mean wedding. Knowing Grey’s, lightning strikes the bride before any vows are actually read.)

According the report from the show’s 100th-episode party, Heigl says of her future on the show and the fate of her imperiled character Izzie Stevens, “I was assuming that [my character's days were numbered] at one point and I got a lot of shrugged shoulders and shakes of the head, so I don’t know if that’s a yes or a no. No one will tell me and I don’t know how this is going to go. I don’t know if I live or die. I don’t know how Izzie fares.”
