Katherine’s staying

Okay, so I’ve just read the latest news about T.R. Knight and Katherine and it turns out that T.R. won’t be returning to Grey’s Anatomy next season. The writers of the show have decided though that Izzie will live longer, so that means Katherine’s staying!

Although I’m relieved that Katie will be returning next season, I don’t like the fact that T.R.’s leaving at all! George has always been one of my favorite characters of the show and I just feel like the shows not the same without him.

E! Online reports that, after months of rumors and denials, T.R. Knight has officially confirmed that he won’t be returning to the series next season.

“Leaving Grey’s Anatomy was not an easy decision for me to make,” Knight said in an official statement on Wednesday. “I am extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to play this character and will miss my fellow cast and crew very much. I continue to wish them the very best, and wholeheartedly thank all of the fans who have supported me and the show with such passion and enthusiasm.”

Show creator Shonda Rhimes followed up with her own statement that read, “I think I speak for the entire Grey’s Anatomy family when I say we wish T.R. Knight the best in his future endeavors. He is an incredibly talented actor and a person whose strength of character is admired by all of us.”

The show’s writers and producers had left the fate of Heigl’s character, Dr. Isobel “Izzie” Stevens, in the air by putting her under the knife for brain surgery after giving her stage 4 brain and liver cancer, but apparently she will live to see another season.

In an article posted by our friends at the HuffPo, Katherine Heigl says she might stay on Grey’s Anatomy (or at least that it’s not for sure that she’ll go), and show runner Shonda Rhimes spills that the show’s 100th episode features the wedding of a twosome you love.

(Wait? Did Shonda Rhimes voluntarily distribute a spoiler? That can’t be right. Mmmm…maybe wedding day doesn’t actually mean wedding. Knowing Grey’s, lightning strikes the bride before any vows are actually read.)

According the report from the show’s 100th-episode party, Heigl says of her future on the show and the fate of her imperiled character Izzie Stevens, “I was assuming that [my character's days were numbered] at one point and I got a lot of shrugged shoulders and shakes of the head, so I don’t know if that’s a yes or a no. No one will tell me and I don’t know how this is going to go. I don’t know if I live or die. I don’t know how Izzie fares.”

Katherine and T.R. are staying

Though reports are running rampant that Katherine Heigl and T.R. Knight are planning to leave “Grey’s Anatomy,” the show’s creator Shonda Rhimes said it isn’t so.
While chatting with press at last night’s NAACP Image Awards, Rhimes was asked about the story and responded, “That was a very interesting rumor. And it’s not true.”

Shonda continued, “That was absolutely taken out of context (referring to a quote from James Pickens Jr). Things happen, and … I think rumors become fact very easily. And you know I don’t like to tell you what’s going to happen on the show – but that is a rumor.”

Pickens took it from there, telling press, “We’ve been living with these rumors for a long time. When the question was posed to me, I was more trying to congratulate Katie and T.R. on whatever they were going to do. But yeah, I don’t have any special info about it either way.”

I’m afraid I’ve some horrible news. Katherine and her bff T.R. Knight are said to be quiting Grey’s Anatomy. These two actors are the only reason I watch the show, without them it would be so lame..

Katherine Heigl and T.R. Knight will soon take off their scrubs for good, their Grey’s Anatomy costar confirms.

When Us Weekly asked James Pickens Jr. (a.k.a. Grey‘s Dr. Richard Webber) on February 7 if Heigl is leaving the medical drama, he said, “Yes, she is.” And he continued, “Wherever Katherine goes, I wish her nothing but the best.”

Following Heigl, 30, out the door?

Her outspoken BFF, Knight, 35. “He’s going too,” Pickens told Us at the NAACP Awards luncheon in Beverly Hills. “He just wanted to pursue other career paths.”

“He complains to Katherine all the time,” a set source has said of Knight (with Heigl). “The energy on set will be much better when he’s gone.”

Sources close to the actors concur.

“Katherine is ready to move on to the next chapter,” says a set source. And Knight is “not shy about telling people” he wants out of his contract, another insider told Us in December.

But now it seems they’re finally getting their wishes.

A source tells Us Knight has had numerous talks with executive producer Shonda Rhimes, and that the “writers are scrambling to find a believable exit for George, one that would leave the door open for him to come back someday.”

Both Heigl’s and Knight’s reps had no comment, and ABC and ABC Studios could not confirm the departures.

Grey’s Anatomy colleague and Katherine Heigl’s best friend T.R. Knight wants to leave “Grey’s Anatomy”. It’s too bad, his character George has always been one of my favorites and I would really mis him!

A person with direct knowledge of the situation has confirmed that T.R. Knight has asked to be released from his contract with “Grey’s Anatomy.”

The actor, who plays Dr. George O’Malley, has asked to leave the ABC medical drama because he is unhappy with his storyline, the person said. Knight has three years left on his contract and the network has indicated they will release him, said the insider, who could not be identified because they were not authorized to discuss negotiation details

An ABC representative declined comment.

Entertainment Weekly magazine first reported news of Knight’s request Tuesday in a posting at ew.com. Writer Michael Ausiello quoted a person at ABC who was not identified as saying that the show and “Grey’s” creator Shonda Rhimes were prepared to let the 35-year-old actor go.
