Katherine won an Emmy for Grey’s Anatomy in 2007 and was slated to be in the race again for the 2008 Awards, but she withdrew her name because she felt that the show’s most recent 4th season (which was affected by a writer’s strike and was not considered the best season of the series) "didn’t give her the material" to rightfully be up as an Emmy candidate. Katherine received a lot of heat from the media by criticizing the writers who were involved with Season 4.

When Katherine appeared on the Ellen Degeneres Show in 2007, shortly before Knocked Up was released, she wore a white blouse and skirt with a belt, an outfit that flaunted her very thin frame. Some may notice that she was walking funny when she came out, and when she sat down with Ellen, she joked that she bought the outfit because she loved it so much, but she didn’t test it beforehand to see if it was comfortable to sit in, so when she tried crossing her legs, it produced very awkward results on live television.
